I had a bad reaction to getting covid/flu vaccines together and I only recieved medical advice on how to mitigate the reaction (stay hydrated, take fever/pain reducers) AFTER it happened. I won't stop vaccinating but I could see that incident ending someone's willingness to take vaccines.
All over my FB people talking about their bad experiences with shingles vax and dissuading each other from getting it! We need to give people real info on how to mitigate the symtoms caused by vaccines because vaccines are always better than meeting a virus unprepared. Yet drs aren't coaching ppl

Last week I finally finished a workable rough draft of a story I've been trying to write for years.

So, maybe pick back up that troublesome project again and give it another go. It just might be time.

Lack of oversight doesn't mean more money, it means more abuse that's easier to get away with.

Got completely pulled out of something I was reading because the character hangs his sweaters.

Don't do that. Just don't. Unless you hate them and want to destroy them. And, even then, just give them away instead.

Slightly spoilery Frankenstein thoughts:

I didn't think I could have LESS empathy for Victor.

I'm disappointed the creature lost a lot of his complexity- especially since the disability metaphor is even more obvious in this version. Feels too close to unpleasant tropes.

In the "probably just a coincidence BUT" file:

I checked to see what pieces I'd previously submitted to a publication. Only two, both rejected but now published elsewhere.

I should submit there more.

(No shade on them for the rejections - it happens.)
