✨ I’ll round it out with my story on what happened the last time that federal workers were sent out of DC during a Trump era. I loved capturing many human interest sides of this story. It’s not just a political one, it’s a story of home and stability: www.washingtonian.com/2024/11/25/t...

✨ I had three contributions on our Election Night live blog. Being a professional vibe-checker on a night when other journalists were more concerned about trying to break the news was a different and fun experience: www.washingtonian.com/2024/11/05/e...

✨ I've tried science writing, like this article about GMU student and faculty researchers making a fake star in partnership with NASA: www.washingtonian.com/2024/12/16/w...

✨ I was on the DC indie bookstore beat. The article that popped off the most on this beat was on Friends to Lovers Bookstore, which I loved covering and then going to enjoy on my own time: www.washingtonian.com/2024/10/21/f...

✨ Throughout, I tried out so many beats that I haven’t normally covered, especially history, culture, and politics coverage. One great story was this one on the hidden history of a Black neighborhood that should have been built in my own neighborhood: www.washingtonian.com/2024/11/18/t...
The Lost History of a DC Black Neighborhood That Was Never Built
Belmont would have been located in Friendship Heights.

✨ I spent the last month getting a crash course in real estate properties for stories with cultural and lifestyle lenses. One example: my preview of a new boutique hotel in Frederick called Visitation Hotel: www.washingtonian.com/2024/12/16/a...
An Old Convent Is Now a Swanky Boutique Hotel in Frederick - Washingtonian

✨ I got to do some theatre and music coverage, as someone who has thrived on the arts beat in the past. I’m proudest of this super fun story on the return of HFStival back in September: www.washingtonian.com/2024/09/23/p...
PHOTOS: The Faces (and Looks) of HFStival 2024 - Washingtonian
This past Saturday, the HFStival returned to DC. RFK stadium is no longer an option, of course, so artists including the Postal Service, Death Cab For Cutie, Incubus, Bush, Liz Phair (who replaced Gar...

Going forward, I am armed and ready with strong reporting technique that I’ve recovered. This is also my open call that if you see writing opportunities, especially assistant editor/coordinator-type positions, send 'em to me (or music/theatre ofc), but for now, I’m going to be proud.

Common trend: they're stories on specific beats that are actually about so much more, so long as I cared to ask the questions about people’s livelihood that are the makings of interesting stories.
