This is a great example for people who dismiss transit and promote idea that the future of transit is self driving cars picking you up from your door and dropping you off at your destination. Traffic is traffic. Self driving cars will not fix traffic. People choosing alternatives to cars will.

Heh. Yeah, realistically we’ll probably just get dustings till the real snow in January. I miss the snow that stayed by this point in the year. Makes the nights less dark as lights of the city and the moon reflect off the snow. ⛄️

Pretty pictures! The shiny pavement and all those store fronts bring the city to life, specially with the limited seasonal sunlight this time of year. Plus always a joy to seeing the TTC Streetcars. 😊

Wonder how deep they are going to go. Elevator shaft is often the deepest part of the foundation from what I seen elsewhere. Isn’t this tower suppose to be 40 or 44 stories about double the high of the one across from the ION stop? Nice to see progress happening. Needed housing for our growing pop

Train I went out on the afternoon one was pretty packed. Honestly more frequency be amazing for weekends, less worry about last train being cancelled. But I hope it shows the demand is certainly here.

Probably about 30-45 people so it seemed got off at Guelph, and about the same amount at Kitchener. But not sure how many people decided to take the GO bus because of equipment issues and hour before we left union on the last train out. Thankfully it was resolved enough to make the full route.

Wonder how busy the last train back is.

I wish more people realize you have to be proactive on spending to get good transit in the long term. (More to the average Joe that just see transit as tax dollars spent and doesn’t understand the good it brings).

I watched an interesting video the other day on the topic. youtu.be/ViGAY4xzdkU

100%. Cuts aren’t it. All cuts get is a feedback loop leading to more cuts. The routes with cuts from all accounts seem to be well used secondary bus routes which is wild. Ridership only grows when we increase frequency, add routes, and spend. Build it and they will come.

You too? The automated ad insertions for some podcasts can be so jarring too. Not a big loss though, always a great day when you can fit more books in. :)

In the coming months*

At least with winter on the way, might be a good illustration to the city and the region how narrow they can become in the common months, and also how many people use them. The snow knows. 🌨️❄️

Standard size sidewalks on major roads and heavily used sections should be wider by standard. One size doesn’t always fit all (situations). Standard size sidewalks are good “minimum width”, specially in neighbourhoods, but they are a minimum…

Usually people are trying to break out of prison…. First time I’ve heard someone trying to break in (that wasn’t a jailbreak)… wild!

Keeps people safe no matter what the reason drivers are try to do in a predestination only event space.

Glad I’m seeing these pop up at more events. So often signs don’t stop drivers, they get confused go around then get frustrated & extremely mad that people are at a public event. This will keep those people out of the event with their cars. So simple and effective too (video demonstration wow)!

Reset the counter back to 0days since last collision. 😩

Probably many. Pickup trucks and SUVs are the majority of vehicles on our roads. Comically large vehicles vs what people really need on a day to day basis.
