Don't underestimate how big the Free School Meal policy is. Around half of all kids at any time will be on Universal Credit. And Free School Meals are worth ~£500 a year per child. For comparison, Child Benefit is only £900 after your 1st child. Possible that Scotland/Wales/NI will now do more too.

Child poverty affects 700,000 children in London—the highest number in the UK. Yesterday, we brought together the Government's Child Poverty Unit and key partners at City Hall to inform the national child poverty strategy. The Mayor @london.gov.uk and I are laser focused on delivering change.
