ICYMI: Alexis Avila will begin serving her 16-year sentence in prison. The #NMDOJ is pleased that justice was upheld - our office, alongside District Attorney Dianna Luce, prosecuted this case and ensured that Avila was remanded.

We learned today that in just over a week, Elon Musk’s AI chatbot 'Grok' generated and shared at least 1.8 million sexualized images of women - all without their consent. This is abhorrent. We need the legislature to take action this session to bring AI accountability to New Mexico.

Richard Gallagher was arrested today by #NMDOJ's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force special agents. He’s accused of using AI apps to convert clothed photos of children into nude photos depicting sexual situations, and is charged with 12 felony counts of Sexual Exploitation of Children.
