I teach yoga. I help people have their best possible death (and their best possible lives). I am an ex-army officer, turned anarchist. I have an MS in physics and am working on an MA in transpersonal counseling. I live with my partner and my dog.
Sorting out details for the mindfulness class I’ll teach at Reed College this spring 🌿
We’ll explore rest, resilience, and awareness through Tricia Hersey’s Rest Is Resistance — with walking meditations, mindful movement, and maybe a little yoga. 🧘‍♂️

I’ve joined Portland DSA and am feeling energized to build with others who care about justice and mutual aid. I’ll keep most of that work offline for safety… it feels good to be rooted in this community. 😊 More soon about a new project I’ll be doing at Reed College.

Building community feel urgent. I’m starting with local orgs (heading to a Portland DSA meeting), deeper ties with neighbors, and checking in with distant friends. Resilience is something we build together.

Make Ready: Safeguarding Our Movements against Repression
Donald Trump has declared that he is designating “Antifa” a “terrorist organization.” What does that mean? How can we prepare to weather the storm?

I just made the focus of the opening meditation of my yoga class at Reed College one of interconnectedness and mutual support. ❤️🙏🏼

I’ve been binging anarchist podcasts & books (shout-out to @margaret.bsky.social). At 51 I feel late to the game, but what resonates is the grassroots path: support neighbors, build resilience, live better lives, and push back on fascists when we must.

The scale of what we’re facing feels enormous. Part of why I’m here is to process it myself — to get my head around how so much seems rooted in capitalism, and to share what I’m learning as I go.

So much of what’s broken — climate collapse, inequality, patriarchy, migration, healthcare — traces back to one root: capitalism. Governments serve capital, not people. I’ll do my best to post here a couple times a week, naming what I see and what I understand.

Do not miss an opportunity to ruin an ICE raid, or an officer's day.
In Middleton, NY.

This guy probably saved his neighbors from Trump's masked thugs.

This is how you firmly assert your rights and stand up for our communities.

I’ve had a strong reaction in my body to many of the initials taken by Pres. Trump in the last 24 hours. I’m going to do my best to respond with compassion. During his first term, he would serve as a “challenging” person to send loving-kindness to during my metta meditations. Everyone is my teacher.
