I'm appalled but unfortunately unsurprised to hear that ICE is targeting my neighbors in Rogers Park today. Unidentifiable and unaccountable agents are roaming the streets with their faces covered targeting schools and community centers. It needs to end. Abolish ICE.

Everything in me wants us to take a victory lap but there are two important points to keep in mind:
1. ICE might be saying this to get protesters to back off because we'll think the job is done. Stay vigilant. Don't take these liars at face value.

Sending out thousands of national guard to crush a protest of a few hundred at most is not strength, it's weakness. Power doesn't panic. If there were hundreds of thousands in the streets, they wouldn't be able to stop it. Those on the side of democracy outnumber them.
