🎉 Our paper “Asylum Seekers and Host Country Mental Health” is accepted at JDE!

Using data from Germany & Switzerland (2010–2016), we find no evidence that asylum inflows harmed host population mental health.

Anchoring permanent health to permanent earnings, I uncover that health plays a crucial role at the lower end of the health distribution. Therefore, upward mobility holds particular significance when parents are situated at the bottom of the health spectrum. 6/9
