ESPN changing the order of stats in their box scores is going to take me a decade to get used to

Should they have already thought Nico was bad? YES!

Which is worse: coming to terms with that and moving on or refusing to acknowledge it?

Do I still think they’re bad owners? Of course. Do I think they’re worse today than two days ago when they were persisting with Nico? No…

They traded for a player with a long injury history who is injured. They traded away a star under the premise that he’s got loser energy and he’s currently leading an 8-4 team who are also missing a key player while you’re 3-9. It’s completely reasonable for that to shake you out of a stupor.

I disagree with that assumption. If they have come to the realization that Nico is a bad GM who implemented a flawed plan then they should fire him instead of letting it play out to see if they're Wrong, Actually about that realization. Literal sunk cost fallacy.

The best day to fire Nico was the day he proposed the Luka trade. The second best day was every other day since. Better yesterday than tomorrow. It's a sunk cost; you don't have an obligation to play it out.

Of course it's going to change. It would be the highest FG% of all time by a mile if it doesn't.

It's worth noting he's a 23yo rookie who is mostly valuable right now because he's shooting over 80% and that's simply not going to persist. Most likely they passed on a good backup C which you would rather not do but long term Queta is our good backup C if we're going to get back to contending.

This is sunk cost fallacy but for a front office

There's the Essengue/Bryant/Riley group of young wings who go mid-round and you figure with more playing time than he got at Real he would have at least been in that group

He's clearly not afraid to go off-the-bounce but after garbage time last night he might want to get back in the lab with the behind the back dribble in traffic 😆

Celtics wing battle is a fun story because no one is falling on their face. Just four guys trying to make it in the league and all four have had good moments when given an opportunity.
