What do you need a poem about? life – work – legacy open source means owned by a community – a tool held as a common good until it's obsolete, free to all but made by someone – someones – anonymous – iterative until these two eyes meet & in the space between them we discover what new sort of software is born, shorn of all pretence, a history unbound by costume or custom, a crumb of nourishment to pass on. Until we know the destination this travelling impulse is leading us toward, through a wasteland post- nuclear or at least post-modern, post-mother, where we mother ourselves into some kind of open source being, where once there was one creator, now you are part of a storm. & after rain, things grow Brian Sonia-Wallace 7.8.25

I've recommended the Peak Design camera clip before for those that like outdoor photography, to put on your rucksack strap. I just got the Pro Pad and this is a game changer to clip it to a belt for street photography. So much more comfortable, and it feels way more secure too!

As ever, I think my body required a 10-hour sleep after KubeCon... Luckily this time it was just a 4h train journey away!

Thanks to all that dropped by the #OpenTelemetry Observatory and brought their insights, to the maintainers that led meetups, and of course to everyone that helped organise!

Precisely the strategy of @jeremycorbyn.bsky.social and many others in EU. Successful, but promptly met with the full force of media moguls to bring down their political personas with deception. Wide adoption of free press is a pre-req for a true socialist agenda, and that in itself is really hard!
This election, Trump was the beneficiary of a pissed-off electorate. It doesn’t have to be this way. We on the Left — in our community organizing, our unions, our socialist electoral campaigns — must become the political home of those who are so rightly angry at the establishment. We can win by rejecting the agendas and sensibilities of the rich, and advancing a political agenda that will make working-class people’s lives better. We cannot beat a promise to Make America Great Again with a mournful dirge or misanthropic insults. We believe in the American people, we know that we all deserve better, and we have a policy agenda to achieve it.
