While Pratt and Whitney’s Asheville General Manager literally says: the Buncombe Plant allows them to build engines for machines of war. Our tax dollars are funding this. Our Helene recovery funds are funding this. We do not have to stay silent, we can hold our elected officials accountable.

And a new round of grants was given to RTX after Helene. Money that could have been spent on our neighbors, but instead was spent funding tools for terror here and abroad, money spent on funding the great wealth transfer from public funds to billionaires.

The data's a bit old in that, but it's still pretty true. I think when you peel back the numbers a little bit, so much of it's on the tourism, and when you see that people aren't spending as much money because of the tenuous economic situation, that's going to put a lot of people out of work.

When you pool money together, you can do more. That's the magic of scale. We can do it locally in Asheville if the Federal Government won't.
