Is that a hot take? Feels like the consensus ojn LIB was set c 84 and has been (correctly) softening since. I think the Sires at the time were somewhat written off. All of their live sets are great, each one is them getting terrifyingly drunk and playing covers until they drop - what a great group!

Both great records, quintessential Gen X Dude Great Lake-dweller testaments, and unlike LIB full of real Replacements songs. Always thought LIB was certainly better than All Shook Down, about on par with Don't Tell a Soul (maybe!) I got 'mats opinions.

"Gary's Got a Boner" is one of like four Actual Replacements Songs on the album! It's one of the few that isn't a bald appeal to mid-80s college radio mope rock. Have you listened to side 1?

Part of the crisis of modern cinema might be that we struggle to make cinematic the miserable, screen-driven life that is the new normal. Life has betrayed cinema, in that sense. But of course the fundamentals remain true but our filmmakers just aren't searching, they're tinkering with the screen.

This regular season was too fun to taint and the Cubs series was a fun cherry on top. I'm not angry or upset with this team at all. What else could they have possibly done against this?
