I lost both my grandparents a few years ago, but we’re just now cleaning out their home. We were able to get one of my grandmother’s old analog clocks. Its chimes are so nostalgic and remind me they’re always here

The message isn't "you're bad." It's "respect people." The problem is you believe being a boy is having a license to say/do anything to people without repercussions. Somehow there are men all over the world who are not experiencing a "brutal" time because they don't find respect to be difficult.
It's a brutal time for young men, and to be raising one. The primary message they now is get is "YOU'RE BAD" without any meaningful attempt to offer healthy pathways beyond "Don't be a boy."

Whenever I feel overwhelmed, I remember how grateful I am to be overwhelmed with what I’m overwhelmed with. A full-time job that pays well, a working actor, and novelist who’s set to debut next year (🤞🏾) I used to pray for times like this.
