My husband was playing his version of “thread chicken” on his 3D printer with filament. He has gotten to the point of calling it thread because that’s what I always call it. I tell him that deep down he wants to quilt with me again 😃.

Thank you 🌼.

Gee thanks! I did find that the ideas came to me more readily when I wasn’t gritting my teeth and being anxious about how it would turn out. I think I need to chill out 🤣.

I wondered if spending so much time learning the “motion of the ocean” on the longarm made pushing the fabric unfamiliar which would be weird to me because that’s where I learned to FMQ. I felt like I had less control of the fabric and I sure did miss that stitch regulation! Maybe I’m transitioning.

This is stunning! I, too, sew and quilt to distract myself from the doom.

You’re welcome! I’m always happy to hear that someone is new to any kind of sewing. It’s a skill, yes, but it’s also a companion that you grow with and into if you make that space for it. I hope you’re finding support and encouragement at every turn and applaud your courage to try something new! 🩵

Aw thanks! I’m such a newbie to the longarm but I share in case there is anyone else out there who is tentative about sharing their own beginnings. 🌼

I also indulged in some dissociation in my sewing room. Other than a stiff neck I’m glad I did. Labeled and bound my most recent quilt and cleaned and reordered both sewing rooms. I’ve been slacking with my baking lately; I’m doing a grocery run tomorrow and thusly ordering a pizza!
