#quiltsky #CO2laser #cardmaking Here is what I’m up to today, at least for a little bit. Triangles and words are laser cut. Binding is fun when it’s 6.5” long 😁. We also cut the cards out of 12x12 heavy duty card stock. It’s markedly less expensive than pre-made.

#quiltsky #CO2laser a still of the final minky cuddle engraving. Definitely use a thicker font for a name. This was an experiment and I just used the first font I saw for the name. Once settings are dialed in it’s a really nice effect.

#quiltsky #CO2laser Well, it was quite the adventure today arriving at the settings for engraving minky cuddle on the CO2 laser but we finally got there. I’m going to post all of the trial and error I recorded on YT @CutItOutWithUs for anyone interested in what did not work for us.

I made these bottle cap themed quilts for my niece and nephew in 2016. To this day I think they are the most fun quilts I ever made.

#quiltsky Krista Moser’s Crimson Christmas pattern. The light from the west side of the porch makes it look like the wrong side is showing on the bottom left, but it isn’t. Now to quilt it. This was hard for me. I struggled with the placement of the shapes but the instructions are excellent.

A design I’m working on now.

I make a lot of quilted greeting cards. I’ll send you better examples of the decorative stitched ones tomorrow but here are a few examples. If you scroll backwards in my posts you’ll see more. Very often the paper slides left and right while forming decorative stitches so I’m looking for a solution.

#quiltsky I write to say how grateful I am for the wonderful, warm, funny, smart, generous, enthusiastic, inspiring, and crazy talented people I’ve met here. It can be hard to practice gratitude in the midst of a cascade of calamities but I make a point to try. I’m thankful for you and this place.

My husband was playing his version of “thread chicken” on his 3D printer with filament. He has gotten to the point of calling it thread because that’s what I always call it. I tell him that deep down he wants to quilt with me again 😃.

#quiltsky #FMQ #co2laser I’m mainly posting these for the FMQ. I’m not used to quilting on poly/synthetics but my mom likes shiny so I thought I’d try. I also did my best just to relax/have fun with the FMQ and this is what turned up. I’m going to clean up some of the zigzag around the snowflake.

#quiltsky My mom, 85, is a painter. I made this as a wall hanging a few years ago before she moved from her house into a senior living apartment. She has a small art studio there (converted sunroom) and asked that I fashion it into a chair cover with a ruffle for her painting chair.

#quiltsky Bound and labeled. I strive to keep my full name off the interwebs as much as possible. I enjoy the delusion that my efforts make a difference. 😋

#quiltsky #longarm I don’t know whether to be proud or embarrassed but, I finished quilting this last night. All hand guided on the longarm. I’ll label and bind it; you can see I had a few thread nests on the back, some were because I didn’t notice the thread was twisted around the needle 😳.

#quiltsky #longarm I made this video for my friend Mindy who has magnets but hasn’t tried them with minky cuddle so I thought I’d show her that it stayed put. I’m not done with the quilting but am going to put it in landscape instead of portrait to do the borders and then trace all of the squares.

You’re welcome! You can save a lot of money if you know someone with a 3D printer and buy your magnets online. My husband says they are very strong rare earth magnets. There are five in each 4 inch magnet.

#quiltsky #papercraft A prototype of a card I’m thinking of making. Had a few things go wrong with the stitching. The paper wiggles under the foot and I think my machine needs service because it’s pulling to the left and I’m fighting it. Triangles are laser cut-I could NEVER by hand.

My friend Andrea’s cat died. I wanted to create a special card for her. This is laser engraved cardstock. I bound the card and put a small quilted heart on the inside. We also engraved a rock for her garden. I think I posted a video of the rock.

#quiltsky #fmq Greetings. I’m posting my completed Angela Walters Negative Spaces class panel. It’s full of mistakes but I learned a lot. The journey continues; I also enrolled in Natalia Bonner’s PNQ Academy. She’s a strong instructor too. I find her to have a slightly different bent. Front & back.

#quiltsky #longarm A bit of redemption today from yesterday’s poor me rant. I never did set things straight after we expanded the longarm, but finally I have. The tools/feet/bobbins/accessories are now in the same room as the machines that use them. I still have work to do but this is progress.
November 2, 2025 at 11:56 PM
See? And since I moved machines around after extending the longarm I don’t have the feet that correspond to the machines in the right drawers and I think I’ll need to relabel them or spend the rest of my life opening every identical drawer to find what I need. First world problems but…

I feel your pain.

I don’t know how to send you a link from Amazon so here is a screen shot. I’ll ask Cameron about the clips. I think he bought them on AliExpress.
November 1, 2025 at 6:37 PM
I’ll send you a link to the comic boards I use if you’re interested.
November 1, 2025 at 6:28 PM
Show me yours and I’ll show you mine! I have fabric in tubs in the guest room and some fleece in the basement. I need more comic boards for the new Halloween fabrics. I should stop shopping but the marketing emails-I’m WEAK!
November 1, 2025 at 6:21 PM
I think so, but the pattern isn’t on their website anymore. I’m going to email them and see if they have one leftover I can buy. I have these Halloween fabrics too, with some Christmas fabric stacked in another room. I really need to reorganize. I like to keep everything orderly and it’s just not 🫤
