Adventures in dance, music, books, yarn, and lifting heavy things.
In general, I'm not a fan of hyper-specialized, single-purpose kitchen gadgets. But when that single purpose is a thing you do a lot, they are absolutely worth having!

Right? Or if you simply must have it now, a robust potato masher is far more effective than a wooden spoon.

I was on a bus on my way to work when I finished The Fault in Our Stars. That was fun.

Throw me the rope.

Oh, and another anecdotal data point from my own life: my parents are both 5'9", my mom likes to wear *heels*, and I've never seen my dad show the slightest perturbation about it. No doubt unrelated, but I'm also fairly certain I've never heard my dad even use the word "bitch."

I know! 😍😍😍 Hubs is probably lucky I hadn't encountered many Dutch men before I met him! 🤣

JFC. I'm 5'6", and I will acknowledge that I have a serious weakness for extremely tall men. However, failing to be absurdly tall has *never* been a deal-breaker for me, or even really a high-ranking criteria. I've been married to a 5'10" guy for 18 years now. So yeah. His height is not the issue. 🙄

Exactly!

Motivation to clean the house is half the point of having guests, isn't it?

And my dog niece Miss Jacky is also very effective at lifting spirits.

Here's Maximus, who hopes your day gets better.

She do indeed!

Nice job! I have this one in my queue, but it might possibly maybe be more with thoughts of sizing it up to fit, say, an adult woman, rather than because I have any nephews into Batman...

Not our house! We definitely do not keep a chair at either end of the window just for the cat's convenience. And we certainly don't keep cushions on those chairs. Nope. Definitely not.

OMG, yes! I understand the value of seams for an adult garment, but a baby is not going to wear anything for long enough that things are going to get stretched out without seams. I either skip or convert anything that wants me to seam for a baby.

It's not even that I didn't like it. I just really don't have the words to describe it. So all I can take say is that it is definitely a book that exists. I think.

I haven't read House of Leaves yet, but I did make it through Only Revolutions, and that was... something. It was definitely something.
March 29, 2025 at 1:06 PM
Legit. I actually liked it a lot more than I expected to.

I said what I thought the connection might be out loud to myself trying to figure out how the one piece fit into that, and then it hit me, and then I knew why you made the face.
March 24, 2025 at 5:12 PM
Same! I've never seen a very so happy to have a cat pee on his table (proving he wasn't 100% blocked when we brought him in), and he has had no issues with whatever food we've put in front of him. Thank goodness.

That's beautiful!

The number of things I break, injure myself with (have I stapled myself? Not telling), or flung across the room when I don't or can't have my knitting... Productive fidgeting has saved me and a lot of other things!
