I will be happy to remember what “cooler weather” feels like. Is this a thing that happens regularly? Does it mean you can go outside without bursting into flames?

i'm only halfway through the book but the fact from it that's stuck w/me the most so far is that immigration to the US was reduced to historic lows btwn 1920 and 1965 which means boomers are the least likely generation in US history to be either immigrants or the children of immigrants

There is a breakaway chain link divider at Dallas Union Station to deter people from walking across tracks in front of entering trains.
They put it in after I hit a man with a train, and then raised hell about the uncontrolled jaywalking.

Star Trek was created because of a spat between Gene Roddenberry, NBC, and the Marines. His 1963 show “The Lieutenant” filmed at Camp Pendleton. He made an episode about racism, NBC censored it, and the Marines yanked his base access. Dennis Hopper played the racist.
