I was going to let this go but it fell on my timeline twice so I'm going with nope! The fact is we have very little idea about why and how visored helmets were used (other than the obvious) and it's very likely that the modern military salute is a stylized hat tipping gesture dating to the 1700s

This is a deluded take, and it's very easy to debunk. Even granting that medieval people had a lot of freedom and rights on paper, the majority of medieval Europe lived in serfdom or a similar status with access to none of those freedoms.

I finally picked four characters! You can tell they have my personality by the way they're avoiding eye contact.

Now what else was on my to-do list this morning...Oh, right, my job.
Cassandra from Rapunzel's Tangled Adventure. She's a cartoon character with short messy dark hair. She's wearing a medieval costume and has a sword on her back. She is looking upwards with one hand on her chin, lost in thought. Cassandra acts pretty tough, but under the surface she's upset by a lot of things and struggles to let them go. She's clearly in love with Rapunzel but can't act on those feelings. All this turmoil often leads to her lying to herself and others, and letting down friends despite her best intentions. She's also a cool androgynous sword lesbian, like I want to be when I grow up! Jade from the video game Beyond Good and Evil. She has green eyes and short dark hair with a headband. She's looking into the distance with a determined expression. To be honest I kind of put her here because I couldn't think of another character. On the other hand, Jade is caring, independent, and she doesn't like being lied to. A stand out on this list because she has a pretty good home life, balancing taking care of orphan kids with her journalism job. She fights tirelessly to expose misinformation, but it's a fantasy game so people actually listen. Jeremy Brett as Sherlock Holmes wearing the famous deer stalker hat. He has a gloved hand on his chin and is staring into the distance with a thoughtful expression. To be clear, I only think Brett's disaster queer Holmes has aspects of my personality. Most versions of Sherlock Holmes are pretty dull and, between you and me, I can't stand Benedict Cumberbatch's acerbic, incel, know-it-all in Sherlock. Just google Sherlock and you'll see what I mean. In most of the images he's glaring at you like he's about to explain how the gender wage gap isn't real. Brett, on the other hand, balanced the character's good and bad qualities while giving him a complex emotional life. He's intense at times, endearingly awkward, and tragically oblivious to how much Watson clearly loves him. This is Cassian Andor, from the TV show Andor. He's wearing a thick coat and holding a blaster. He also has dark messy hair and is staring into the distance. If you're wondering why he's left handed it's because I flipped the picture to balance stare directions (left, right, left, right). Cassian starts out very angry and frustrated, but tends to keep that buried because he doesn't believe he can do anything about it. Instead he veils his feelings behind nonchalant cynicism. As a consequence his personal life is a wreck and he becomes a burden to his friends and family. I liked his journey towards understanding why those people cared about him, even when he caused them nothing but trouble, and how he learns to care about others.
