Members of this Supreme Court have already told us they are willing to overturn Obergefell. It’s only a matter of time before they do.

I will not be deterred despite the President’s continued maneuverings and will continue to fight until every qualified resident receives the benefits they rightfully deserve.

Thanks to the quick actions from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, some Michiganders were able to receive their benefits this week, but access to food is not a legal game.

Michigan is taking every step possible to get this benefit into the pockets of our residents and I applaud the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services for their quick action following this ruling.

A public hearing is the only way to ensure transparency, give customers all the facts, and confirm DTE’s proposal truly protects Michiganders before any approval is granted.

In either scenario, the massive costs of building the data center won't just disappear. The costs would be passed on to ratepayers, driving up bills for families.

That’s why I’m asking the Commission to hold a public hearing on this case – to make sure DTE customers are not stuck footing the bill for a data center that never comes to fruition or uses far less electricity than projected.

People in Michigan expect this law to have their back, and it is my hope that the Court sides with the consumers who have been hurt by deceptive practices.

The Michigan Consumer Protection Act is supposed to protect consumers, but instead it often shields many corporations from any real accountability, even when their business practices are clearly egregious.

With this order, Michigan can now focus on maintaining and improving infrastructure without unlawful conditions. I will continue to defend the resources that our communities count on.
