There are so many godawful pieces in this, but I want to call your attention to this gem in particular, with the hopes that someone on Al Gore's internet can explain to me what the hell they are talking about. They think NRDs control the weather?!

100%. Case in point: A "civil" conversation about eugenics is still a conversation where someone is entertaining an abhorrent, inhuman policy and giving it legitimacy by offering that person time and attention. It's the intolerance paradox in action.

The very convenient thing about the "deep state" is that it's whatever and whoever you need it to be. You can use it for anything! Didn't get chosen for a cabinet position? Deep state.
Lost your car keys? Deep state. Vending machine out of your fav soda? Damn you, deep state fiends!

I'm from Omaha and we all heard the same! The old Gene Leahy Mall (where part of the new park stuff is now) was designed as a sunken park that was mostly below street level. It was well known as a spot where unhoused folks congregated, especially with the library across the street (now demolished).

Copywriting is as much about knowing *how* people will read/understand your words, as it is about choosing them. A copywriter can make sure your audience hears: "Let's eat, grandma!" Instead of: "Let's eat grandma!"
