There were tradeoffs, of course. The school system could be better, the house is old, etc, but I never have to worry about losing the house, we could make the payment on two part time jobs, if needs be.

Not to dunk too harshly on my millennial brethren, but my wife and I bought a house that was less than half of what we were approved for for precisely this reason. We wanted the peace of mind to know if everything went to hell we could pay our mortgage each month.

For me the craziest part was that I was actually only about an hour outside Detroit, and no one could point me in the right direction to get to the city. And I stopped at like three gas stations to ask.

I live an hour outside Chicago, I could definitely tell you how to get there.

I was two hours late to a concert in Detroit because MapQuest cut off the two final steps on page 1 of 2, and when I asked for directions, no one could tell me where to go.

I had a great time watching this, four episodes was the perfect length, it never felt like it overstayed it's welcome.

There is good cranky, and then there is Pitchfork. I think people don't mind a detailed explanation on why an album is 'not good, actually' but what they don't want is some person who seems like they wouldn't like this music under any circumstances ever, coming down from on high to lecture.
