I’d highly recommend it too, I took it this August with an overnight stay in Llanwrtyd and a stopover in Knighton between the morning and afternoon trains to walk to Offa’s dyke and the border. An amazing way to explore Wales by train.

India is a model country for sustainable living in many ways, e.g. through cultural awareness and vegetarianism but, as regards transport, it could benefit from the experience of Denmark and the Netherlands (who also have learnt over time).

From personal experience, the awareness of tipping points is a motivation for action. This awareness was also demonstrated in the recent confirmation hearings for European Commission, and I’m glad that our top politicians are aware. hearings.elections.europa.eu/documents/ri...

Wow, this is quite something. I was involved in the EU legislation that banned SF6 in footwear back in 2006 (screenshot), and had no idea before today that there are credits circulating for their phase out. It’s good that this gets some attention eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-conten...

Happy New Year 2024! As from today, flights from the Canary Islands to Europe, Switzerland and to the UK are covered by #EUETS carbon pricing, as well as eligible for 100% funding for the additional cost of using sustainable aviation fuels instead of fossil kerosene #climateaction

A Decision has also been adopted on applying carbon pricing to flights to/from Iceland and Norway. Alongside access to EU ETS support for actually using alternative aviation fuels from January 2024, there’s the possibilty for airlines to submit climate-neutrality plans www.efta.int/sites/defaul...

Some good news: pricing pollution in 30 countries in Europe through the EU ETS has helped to reduce emissions from power and industry by over 37% below 2005 levels by the end of last year climate.ec.europa.eu/system/files...
