Trying to think if I’ve ever met someone out there who didn’t like Star Trek II. Met a few who hadn’t seen it, but never anyone who actively didn’t like it. There must be someone out there, right? Everything has a hater somewhere.

I swear that there is pure genius hiding behind the remarkably dull final product that is Barry Levinson’s Toys.

Like, why say a certain line that had already been said perfectly the first time around? John McClane can repeat “Yippie-Ki-Yay” because he’s the only one whoever says it. No way you can have a new character repeat a classic phrase from someone else and make it feel natural. Just a weird moment. 2/2
