There are some days when I really miss my old Pentium II and Voodoo 2, and some days when I only miss it a little.

Really quite liking the new season/series of Daredevil so far.

If Trump wasn't ready to do actual negotiations instead of just expecting Zelenskyy to capitulate to an absolutely terrible deal for Ukraine, then maybe Trump is the one that wasn't serious about these talks.

Also, any time you feel the need to remind someone that they should feel grateful about something, maybe take a step back and check yourself. Arrogance is never a good look.

Yes, now that English being the primary language of the US is enshrined in law, we will all start speaking it again. Something that clearly hasn't been happening for the last 250 odd years. Truly a worthy use of taxpayer money.

I've always thought that the casting of Sarek by Mark Lenard was an impeccable choice. He is so good!

Only someone who has never been in the unfortunate position to have to use anti-depressants or known anyone that battles chronic depression would make the amazingly ignorant comparison between them and drug addiction from hard substances like heroin.

Well, that would definitely make them NOT "no ad" or "ad free" subscription teirs, wouldn't it, @disneyplushelp.bsky.social

If your NSF grant contains the word "female", it's flagged as a violation of the anti-DEI executive order. Note that "male" is not on this list.

Gladiator II was a mixed bag for me. A little slow in the beginning, but it ramped up for the final act. It was very good but did not grab me the way the first one did in my late teens / early 20s.

1/ Hypothetically, let's say it wasn't a Nazi salute. Does that matter? Not really. Symbols matter. A swastika was adapted from the old Hindu symbol for good fortune. Does that mean we should be hanging swastikas everywhere? Obviously not.

How many times will it take before people realize that the only politics that corporations and corporate CEOs believe in are the ones that make them more money?

Epic CEO Tim Sweeney says tech leaders are 'pretending to be Republicans' to gain favor with Trump, skirt antitrust laws, and ultimately 'rip off consumers and crush competitors'
The Trump administration is expected to be softer on antitrust cases, which as we know are one of Sweeney's major pursuits.

Mark Zuckerburg's outline RE: FaceBook is perfectly consistent with his ideology when you consider that all he cares about is engagement. Based on the current sociopolitical climate right now, it was pretty obvious that the way SM is run was going to swing more right-wing.

The real question we should all be asking is who exactly is still using Facebook that it is in any way shape or form still relevant. It's such an AI ad ridden hellhole it barely even still functions as a social media platform.

I saw a headline on a magazine today that said "AI is the fastest progressing technology in human history" and all I could think to myself is that a statement like that completely ignores the fact that research into neural networks has been happening since the 40s.

You ever wonder if, as a society, we are conditioning ourselves to be less curious over time due to clickbait hijacking that neural process and us trending on (hopefully) clicking it less and less?

I'm an ad for a clearly fake game. Watch this video that was made by a graphic designer of an obviously impossible situation or someone making really bad choices that will make them fail. Click me daddy.

In infosec, if an exploit exists, it will be exploited. Putting backdoors into encryption algorithms is deliberately introducing an exploit. You don't get to decide who exploits it.
