This US goverment poster is from 1943. The Nazis burned books - this US goverment is banning them. Hard to imagine such a poster being produced now.

In other news, I signed a stack of my new novel in Brighton Waterstones today. While I was scribbling at the till a man came up with a fine pile of fiction & we got chatting & he bought a freshly signed book from me and it felt great! PS signed copies of the Two Roberts on the table by the door!

Last night I found myself in the library of dreams: shelves so high they might have snow on top, floor after floor of beloved books, welcoming librarians AND AN ACTUAL DOOR TO NARNIA. I was talking about the Two Roberts so couldn’t take lots of pics. But check out Bromley House Library, Nottingham
