I run a nonprofit makerspace in Wyoming. Maker Space 307.
I am making some. They are pretty simple to make if you are handy. A couple of holes and a hinge. I'm going to sell mine at some point but they aren't really anything special vs what you see on Etsy.

Everytime I see one of those ads on marketplace I think to myself "no lowballers, I know what I got"

That's an amazing idea. I'm gonna have to steal it, although I did just buy like 50 feet of leather belt so I might have to wait a bit before the boss lets me spend more cash on my machines.

My wife has industrial machines with walking feet, auto needle up/down, auto-thread cut, auto-backtack, and can cycle through half stitches with a button push. And it's still straight stitch only. I love my vintage and antique machines, treadle and electric but sometimes bells and whistles are fun.

I can confirm! Also I still have those goodies I need to send you, I just haven't made it to the post office.

2/ I hadn't set out to buy two of them but one showed up at an online auction about 3-hours away so I had to bid, then before I got that one another showed up about 2-hours away so I had to bid on that two. Now I have two machines I only ever really wanted or needed one of.

1/ About the sewing machine or the laser? I'm going to clean both of the two spools up and let one of them go, once I know it's in good serviceable shape. The biggest problem is I'm in Wyoming so it might get sold as a "head only" as cabinets are basically impossible to ship.

One more advantage of LEDs is that they have a tendency to produce more blue light than incandescent lamps. As eyes age they have a tendency to loose the ability to see blue/night vision last. So not only will your lamp last longer as it ages so will one's ability to see it.

I can relate I got a cabinet for a machine that didn't have a base and would work best in a treadle, unfortunately the cabinet had a machine in it already creating a leap frog situation of finding/making bases for machines and new homes for machines already in bases that I'm still chasing down.

I do know how to replace them I have like 20 vintage machines, in fact my favorite is the 99 so I have a decent amount of experience with that specific plate. This is only my second 66 though, my other one is a treadle machine.

It's made from laser cut solid poplar wood. I'm finalizing the design and then I'm going to make one out of Oak to match some of the cabinets I have.

Exactly and all it takes is hours of your time waiting for it to print and hundreds of dollars of equipment instead of just using something you already have laying around.

I designed a little TPU printed part that I make with a 3D printer to provide a little cushion to the painted surfaces.
