Ahh I finally got a decent picture of them-- #birdsky, what is going on here?? It is November, surely this bird isn't still molting? But it looks too gray to be a gynandromorph??? 🪶

Carolina chickadees are quickly becoming one of my favorite birds.

The Carolina chickadees have found the feeder and I'm dying, they're the tiniest cutest birds!!

Like, these are the barrier islands about 3 hours away just in normal bad weather. Poor Jamaica...

(Our islands are basically always eroding from north to south, so this isn't just weather, to be fair)

A cardinal at a feeder. Significant portions of its body are the greyish color of a juvenile or possibly a female. The rest is the normal red, including a large crest. Same bird, but now it's giving the viewer side eye.

A dark green leathery mistletoe leaf. Growing on it are incredibly tiny lavender... spots? at the end of almost invisible filaments. They're maybe 5 mm taller than the surface of the leaf.
