As an Austinite, I was glad I managed to catch a couple shows there when passing through. Saw a Dub Narcotic Sound System show (so much awkward white people dancing, including myself) and Hammerhead as well. Still pissed my friend wouldn’t give me a ride to see Karp there.

Oh man, 2 dollar indoor/5 dollar outdoor cover for shows at Emo’s? And before my time it was just free cover for 21 up. Yeah, we really didn’t know how good we had it.

I can’t think of any specific ones that would be notable to people other than me, so I’ll go with five bands I’ve seen five or more times:

No specific show, but there was a magic moment at the end of November/beginning of December 95 where we had Jawbreaker, Boss Hog, and Karp in separate Emos shows, a couple Fugazi/Blonde Redhead shows at Liberty Lunch, Sonic Youth/Unwound/Polvo at Austin Music Hall. I’m probably forgetting some more.
