March is #NationalReadingMonth, and I thought it might be fun to try to post a sentence or two every day this month about a different book/series that’s stuck with me throughout my life. Most will be sci-fi or fantasy, but maybe one will catch someone’s interest and I’ll introduce a new favorite 📚

One thing that never gets talked about enough is how truly horrible American packaging is. Oh? This box has perforations to show you where to open? Yeah, that’s actually where it’s double reinforced so you’re going to have to tear through that box like a bear to get to your Ritz Bits, sorry.

Has it been long enough that we can talk about how the battle music in Pokémon Z-A might genuinely be the worst audio experience in any Pokemon game?

People can whine about the Game Awards all they want, but if ANY game got snubbed it was Digimon Story: Time Stranger.

People can whine about the Game Awards all they want, but if ANY game got snubbed it was Digimon Story: Time Stranger.

I love Pokemon. I play every game on release and enjoy nearly all of them, but that doesn’t change the fact that almost every single one feels incredibly low-effort and like a beta for what should be a way better game. It’s the most consistent “two steps forward, one step back” franchise there is.

It amazes me how #TheWheelOfTime show can make the most insanely asinine decisions in season 1, completely ignore them the next season, do it again for season 2, and then go on to make season 3 genuinely awesome.

I think the thing I hate most about April Fools’ Day is when a game implements a legitimately cool feature as a “joke”, and then removes it afterward.

Sonic the Hedgehog on the Sega Genesis is the first video game I remember ever playing as a kid, and I’ve played almost every Sonic game there’s been and enjoyed them. But there’s this upper tier to the Sonic fandom I don’t think I’ll ever reach, and I’m honestly a little envious of those who have.

They can say what they want, but you are you. Trans, nonbinary, genderqueer, intersex, or whatever else, the people in your life who REALLY matter are the ones who support YOU.

I watched Sonic 3 and Mufasa back-to-back over the weekend. One I went into with high expectations, and the other with fairly low expectations. Pleased to report that BOTH were better than I anticipated and it was a good day.
