I wouldn’t be surprised if that was the case. These jerseys are the exact same template as the red rocks — just updated colors.

The Pacers have a dumb hand in the P on their shorts, but at least they have historical precedence for that.

The Indiana Pacers, also founded in 1967, chose a name to represent the state’s history of harness racing (with horses) and the Indianapolis 500 (with cars). Oddly, their original logo did not convey that sense at all, opting for this rather lame design of a hand holding a ball to form a P.
