This is the problem of having a legislature ran by and for geriatric millionaires. They are completely out of touch with the struggles of working class people.

The rich will keep getting richer while the poor get poorer, and the hard studying working class kids will be priced out of their dreams.

Law and Medicine are already dominated by rich kids. First Generation and Low Income students are underrepresented, and this bill will make things even worse.

I'd love to get a JD with my MPH to work in health law, but that probably isn't possible anymore.

Now I'm exploring Law Schools, and I fear I'm going to be priced out. They can cost well over $100,000 just for tuition at a public university. Med Schools are even worse, often being over $200,000 for in state tuition at a public.

The only people who will be able to attend are rich kids.

I graduated with an MPH from @yalesph.bsky.social where tuition was ironically way cheaper than if I went to my local public university @uofmichigan.bsky.social, which I also go into. I still wound up with a huge amount of student debt.

I am proud to be the first person in my family to graduate from college. I turned my life around and got my AA with honors from @honolulucc.bsky.social , then got my BA with a 4.0 from @uhmanoa.bsky.social. I got grants and scholarships, and still wound up with 10,000s in debt.
