Hey Scott, am I crazy to think a small-but-growing left-wing or center-left media organization could capitalize for a pitch to bring a Kimmel or Colbert into their programming? I don’t know media economics, but seems like a big swing that could pay off? Podcasts seem cheaper than Late Night shows.

Yeah, this is why I hated the popularization of the phrase “you’re on the wrong side of history.” That doesn’t work and it’s actually counterproductive. You wanna make people think they’ll be on the wrong side of a jail cell if you want them to curb legally dubious or flatly illegal behavior.

Yeah the metaphor is an odd one too in its practical realities. Like I thought the Tea party was objectively batshit crazy, but they A) all hated Obama and the Dems as much as Older Rs, and B) Famously went on to winning presidential elections, house and senate seats, and Supreme Court appointments.

I feel if Postman had to listen to Pete or Gavin or whoever lob a mushroom coffee ad at him before going on to win the primary, he’d laugh maniacally all the way to voting for Trump’s 3rd term, praying for an asteroid to end humanity. Or maybe I’m just projecting.

I think about this a lot, and I have stopped trusting it when people identify as Moderate or Centrist. The last 30 years of political media has deemed those terms as being “good” and partisanship or radicalism as bad, so people with pretty radical views still know to say “I’m a moderate”

I’ve seen it twice now James, it’s such a terrific movie, amazing work. Can’t wait for Supergirl and the rest. Good luck with it all, I’m so glad I get to be excited for the DCU again!
