Today would have been the 52nd year since Jennifer and I said our wedding vows (and kept them, through the almost-33 years of our life together). She did, however, have to deal with my . . . behavior, illustrated here.

Because "Firestorm" explores the fallout of a deeply flawed president, it's tempting to think it's about the current one. No comparison intended; it was mostly written by 2010: a story about power, and about when the truth can be costly for the innocent. At Barnes & Noble, Amazon, most bookstores.

I struggled to describe my own book. Accountability? Abuse of power? Courage? Accurate--but I finally realized: to summarize the core question in "Firestorm:" Do you tell the truth, when you know that it will hurt you--and the people you love the most? Available from most booksellers now.
