The Book of Revelation is less about being raptured out of this world, and more how to live in a Christlike manner in a world where power and prestige seems to dominate over meekness and humility.

I am committed to praying for our leaders this year.

I will pray that they find & live in light, and that—should they choose darkness instead—they (instead of the people they’re charged with leading) reap the fullness of what they sow until they choose to sow different seed.

...This psalm has been especially meaningful to me in a season where it has felt like a time of loss, hardship, and sadness.

I know the Lord has not abandoned us.

Joy will come.

Until then, we rest in the shalom that comes from God's faithful hesed presence.

I'm preaching on Psalm 126 tomorrow.
I used to focus on the sowing-harvesting imagery in terms of faithfulness leading to fruit.

I'm now more moved by the way this psalm speaks to those in exile.
Restoration will come, but we don't know when.
Until then, pursue shalom in the place of exile.🕯️
