For profit prisons is the main reason why the US has one of the highest incarceration rates. When prisoners are treated as $ rather than as humans, neglect is inevitable. The revolving door of inhumane incarceration will never end as long as the system focuses on punishment instead rehabilitation.

Here’s an idea that MIGHT help your reputation more than new designer lines (more ppl to boycott)…bring back and expand the “DEI” programs you cancelled. Waiting until a DEM is back in office isn’t going to work. You need some skin in the game or it’s just another marketing stunt. No pain no gain.

Did it ever occur to Azizi that this “worker solidarity” he yearns for isn’t attainable when you have an openly racist group of people who would never align with those they see as beneath them? Solidarity requires acknowledgement of common ground and common goals, not division and disrespect.

Horrible. I expect this from corrupt politicians who will do anything to hold onto power, but when a court gives their stamp of approval to anti-democratic actions it’s a travesty.

Waste of taxpayer $ and the loss in revenue and jobs in cities and states that depend on tourism to sustain them. Not that I would visit the US at this time regardless of the social media investigation…and I live here.

How embarrassing. Not for them, they have no shame, but for the US. So much for the days when an indictment from the DOJ was considered a slam dunk because they didn’t want to try cases they couldn’t win. Now it’s throw shit against the wall and see what sticks…being annoying is good enough.

I came of age at a time when private health insurance was too expensive for many, when preexisting conditions weren’t covered, & I didn’t have insurance. We can do better, but going back to a time when ppl stayed sick because they couldn’t afford healthcare shouldn’t be an option. It’s unacceptable.

They may only comprise 25% of the country, but as long as independents are willing to vote with them, SCOTUS keeps siding with them & Dems keep staying home, the disintegration of democracy & civil rights will continue. My bedridden physically & mentally disabled brother gets $1800 a month from SSI. He now has to pay $187 per month for his much needed health coverage. As it is, he can’t afford to live on his own…imagine if he had to pay the full amount. He’s lucky he has family to help. So many don’t. It’s sinful.

American citizens, by birth or naturalization, vote for someone who actually represents their interests and Musk thinks this is wrong? His issue isn’t with immigrants, it’s with democracy itself. He wants the wealthy to to reign supreme. Citizens have no say in his ideal society, or the GOP’s.

The American ppl are paying attention, and that’s not good for republicans, whose only goal is to find a way NOT to provide healthcare. It’s not about fraud and abuse, which is minimal, it’s about finding ways to supplement tax breaks for the rich. We hear the bullshit, and we’re not buying it.

No arm of the federal government should operate without oversight and accountability. The fact that very little can be done to mitigate actions by SCOTUS makes them prime candidates for corruption. We can’t depend on integrity to guide them. No one entity should ever be the last word.

Every dystopian movie that portrays the wealthy and powerful few ruling over the oppressed and downtrodden many. It’s not “rational thought” that motivates those pushing this philosophy, it’s greed, power and hubris…the foundation of all feudal societies and the antithesis of equality. GTFOH
