I don’t put that much stock into the Jacksons and the white girls discourse. It’s pretty obvious they don’t care about race, and that’s not a determining factor for them. I don’t think it has anything to do with colorism or anything. Giving them too much credit with that 😭

I think Janelle’s tribute last night was extremely disappointing. Insulting almost. It’s a reflection of how the industry views him, even in death, and that’s as a joke. Nothing about that performance was pleasing. Very minstrel vibes to it, and didn’t do anything to honor Quincy and his production

There definitely is some discussion to be had about the fact that Beyonce had to go into country music and do Americana imagery in order to secure AOTY, but honestly, I’m just happy she finally got it. It does feel a little dirty though
