100 years ago today, on 16 April 1925, the German Atlantic Expedition began with RV Meteor, the first of many Meteors to follow.
From 1925 to 1927, fundamental data was collected and insights gained during this first systematic survey of the South Atlantic.

We collectively haven’t been taking the plans laid out by Project 2025 seriously enough. They want to destroy NOAA so people won’t know that climate change is happening. It sounds stupid and alarmist if you haven’t been paying attention.
Project 2025 plan calls for demolition of NOAA and National Weather Service
The call to dismantle the United States' vital weather department has raised the hackles of experts who say NOAA provides not only important free data but also life-saving information.

Ok, my quest for the unknown sampler bottle in the back of our storage room ended up in a dead end. Apologies for the cliffhanger.
But what about this beauty ? Probably an old sound-based currentmeter. No real background info. 1990s ? Probably not FSI, check the head. Any thoughts?
