Recently heard a pastor of Latin American origin using this argument against migration to the US, and at least I can say it's nothing new. He was also defending the "My heart to you" salute, for context. The book is: Beyond borders: A history of Mexican migration to the United States by Henderson.

Migration is a failure of roots. Between them (the men) and the sustaining earth a wedge has been driven. Nature and man, lay down the choice: move or die. Those who are able to break away do so, leaving a hostile world behind to face an uncertain one ahead. -Ernesto Galarza, Merchants of Labor

If someone is looking for me this weekend, I'll be watching the TikTok ban live in the app with all the Americans realizing they've been screwed by their government. It's hilarious and I am here for it. Godspeed, my friends!

I was not expecting to cry over this. I believe fantasy/scifi are important because more often than not, they tell us again the stories we know of our world with a new face that we might be more willing to see.

(Dandadan, it has a catchy song you won't forget for days, but it's not for children)
