RUTH GORDON SCHNAPP (1926-2014) worked at Boeing during WW2. When the war ended, Boeing demoted all female staff to typist to make room for the men, she protested by typing everything slowly, before returning to school at Stanford. She graduated with civil engineering degree. #History #Herstory 2/2

SOPHIE SCHOLL (1921-1943) was executed along with her brother, Hans, and Christoph Probst, but their final pamphlet was smuggled into Britain where where it was reprinted & then dropped all over Germany by Allied planes. #History #Herstory 2/2

ELSIE MACGILL (1905-1980) she became the chief aeronautical engineer at Canadian Car & Foundry (Can Car) in 1938 & was instrumental the massive production of the Hawker Hurricane for the Royal Air Force during WW2. #History #Herstory 3/3

ELSIE MACGILL (1905-1980) was struck with a severe polio shortly after graduating. Doctors told her she would be permanently paralyzed from the waist down, but regain limited movement in her legs by exercising every day. #History #Herstory 2/3

IDA WELLS-BARNETT (1862-1931) was born into slavery &d freed after the Civil War along with her parents. She helped raise her 6 siblings as a teacher after her parents died of yellow fever, but was fired after exposing the poor school conditions. #History #Herstory 2/3
