JEANNETTE RANKIN (1880-1973) was ardent pacifist, she was the only member of congress to vote against entering WW1 & WW2. In 1968, she lead a peace march with 5000 women to protest the Vietnam war. #History #Herstory

HARRIET BOYD HAWES (1871-1945) was encouraged to be an academic librarian by her professors rather than participate archaeological fieldwork. She didn’t listen & went anyway. She became the 1st archaeologist to discover & excavate an Early Bronze Age Minoan town (1901-1904). #History #Herstory

📆Oct. 23 1915: 25,000 women marched up Fifth Avenue demanding the right to vote in the United States. This became one of the largest demonstrations for women’s suffrage at the time, helping build momentum leading up to the ratification of the 19th Amendment in 1920. #WomenInSTEM #WomenMakingHistory
