Correction: This book is undated but the inscription is from 1924. So this is the oldest thing we own.

After various carboot sales and charity shop donations my vinyl collection is looking quite pathetic. Now that I've finally got the turntable working again it may be time to start investing again.

This book is 85 years old. That's nothing in terms of antiquity but I think it's the oldest thing we own now. I had various older items that were left behind to a former life.

I don't call myself a #naturist but I have been known to disport socially in the altogether. I bought this because it was published in the month of my birth.

I'm no expert but I've had a fondness for #DoctorWho since c1977. c1981 I had this book and was part way through when my brother donated it to a jumble sale. Many years later by describing the prologue to @moogthedog.bsky.social he correctly identified the book and I bought a copy.

Apparently I was already interested in History when my mum gave me this for Christmas 1983. The latest reference in it is 1980, which wasn't that long ago then but is now a very upsetting 44 years ago.

Another 1979 edition but I got it in early 1982, Sperry Vickers works kids outing gift for the boys. The outing was to see Alladin starring Lorraine Chase, Brian Cant and Derek Griffiths at the King's Theatre Southsea.

#FunnyFolk, 2nd edition 1979. I got this from one of those book catalogues at school c1980. Cover price is 65p but I'm fairly sure I got it for 50p! A collection of humerous folk tales.

Inside cover of my 1979 copy of Charles Kingsley's The Water-Babies. My Dad made me read this in 1980 or so and probably takes credit for my love of literature but I actually found it very boring and have never been tempted to read it again.
