Sad about Canada breaking up with the USA but totally justified and have every right to - to save their sovereignty.

If the block on the Federal Register isn’t removed in the next few months, I fear a majority of labs will close within a year. This small procedural wrench has the power to kill US science indefinitely, losing an entire generation of discovery and innovation.
I had two grant proposals up for review in the NIH Bacterial Virulence (BV) study section. It was canceled without notice this morning.
Without those grants, my lab must close within a year.
And so the purge of scientific research in the US continues

This is incredibly sad. This type of research has been so important. The US will no longer be at the forefront of cutting edge research and medicine. This will now go to other countries.
Less than a month into his administration, President Trump has embarked on a cost cutting program that threatens to reshape the infrastructure that experts say has made the U.S. the envy of the world in medical innovation.

Unprecedented indeed. But honestly, I'm like good for Europe.
BREAKING: France, Germany, Poland, Italy, Spain & UK sign a joint statement vowing to protect Ukraine’s sovereignty & demanding a role in the peace talks.

This is leadership.

It’s also unprecedented.

A western alliance is having to form against a new, twin & united threat: Trump & Putin.

I hadn't thought about until the last day or so but the FOIA Request I made in mid January for my files at adoption (40+ years ago) may be significantly delayed or worse I fear that dept. may be shut down. The estimated date was 2/28. I'm like number 15,000+ of 25,000+ requests.

This was a sad letter to read. So much this past week. Honestly, I think many people are really not understanding all these repercussions until it hits their pocketbook.

Fievel wound up with a small eye ulcer after rubbing his head in dirt and snow last week. Wound up going to the vet on Saturday (photos 2 and 3). Last photo is yesterday. Looks muck better. If I had had drops, just would have used. Mine expired like 10yrs ago. Guess I should pitch that one.

Taking democracy seriously and at its word.
South Korea’s president was formally indicted on Sunday on charges of leading an insurrection last month when he briefly imposed martial law, prosecutors said.
