The more you shape your online presence, the less your content will land in front of industry peers—and the more it will reach the people who actually matter for your career.

So what’s stopping you from putting yourself out there? What’s the real fear? 👀

Here’s how:
✅ Engage with people who would be your audience, not just other musicians
✅ Use captions and keywords that attract listeners
✅ Post consistently so the algorithm learns who to show your content to

Here’s the thing: your content isn’t for other musicians. It’s for the people who love your music—the ones who will buy tickets, stream recordings & support what you do.

If you don’t want your content popping up in front of the wrong people, you need to train the algorithm to find the right ones.

I will be forever grateful to everyone who has supported us—through training, encouragement, recommendations, and most of all, to those of you who have trusted us with your marketing ❤️

And it’s a bloody good job it’s all worked out as I can no longer play the recorder! 🤪

So here’s to Year 5! 🥂

I never imagined that four years later, it would grow into a small but incredible team working with orchestras, record labels, conductors, opera companies, composers, and—of course—a whole host of amazing musicians.

Calm for me means:
🌿 Posting with purpose, not just for the sake of it
🌿 Taking the pressure off by knowing what’s coming next
🌿 Making time to focus on connection & creativity instead of stress

How do you stay on top of your social media when life’s all over the place?

No 2 days look the same. Add social media into the mix & it can feel like one more thing to panic about.

Having a solid strategy & plan for my posts (& my clients’ too!) makes all the difference. When everything’s thought through, nothing feels rushed or last-minute even when life is unpredictable.

• Last year, I developed a super serious nut allergy, which has stopped me from playing my almond-oil-covered recorders—but I’m working on that this year!

If you made it to the end of this, come and say hi! Let us know what you’re up to this year 😄

• We work with orchestras, ensembles, festivals, & opera companies—basically, any organisation with a strong strategic plan looking to up their social media game 💪

• We’re all working musicians or teachers too. Fun fact: Vicky played at our wedding nearly a decade ago! 😮

• The chaos of the last 3 years has impacted the amount of work & speed of growth at Da Capo, which frustrates me no end. But in 2025, I’m trying to stop feeling bad about it.

• Despite this, the team has quietly grown to 3 & I am so lucky to work with the amazing Emma & brilliant Vicky 🙏

• I live in Cheshire with my husband, 2 children, & 2 cats. One of them is super photogenic—check out this cutie below! 🐈

• We’ve basically been permanently moving house or doing a ridiculous commute since the start of 2022. I’m so looking forward to putting down roots somewhere new very soon 🤞
