How many quarters of sales decline can a company take? I guess we will see!

I think the students were a little blown away by me basically doing their project in an hour, no AI, no Pinterest image search, all while answering their questions and chatting. This is the benefit of 30 years of experience. It looks easy because I learned from mistakes from 20 years ago.

It looks like we are about the same age if I had to guess. Answers:

1) EVs need no major maintenance until about 120k miles

2) both my EVs came with free chargers

3) battery lasts 200k - 400k miles, I've never driven a car that long and I kept my last car for 20 years

4) Solar costs about $15k

trains, busses, toaster ovens, elevators, your Toto toilet/bidet combo, and gas car made after 1992... they all have chips. 🤷‍♂️

It’s so odd to me when people focus on these fantastical fictional scenarios instead of the very real daily benefits they would enjoy every day with an EV…
November 12, 2025 at 9:32 PM
Totally. Unless you are commuting by horseback, this applies to you. Even the gas pump at the station has a chip in it. No gas is coming out of there.

Also, if an EMP sets the world back to the Iron Age I think commuting to the office is probably the least of your worries…

"no one wold buy that" says guys who only buy 30 year old used cars.

I was just having this convo with Kristina yesterday how having RWD gives you more range but AWD gives you more regen (and speed and traction obviously) so the need to balance out what someone’s true needs are with making a recommendation #ev
November 12, 2025 at 6:12 PM
It’s really true. I wouldn’t be surprised if there wasn’t a big overlap in the Venn diagram of dudes who never owned an EV trying to tell me about owning an EV to dudes who don’t have other things with big opinions on those matters too…

Hmmm… very interesting. Almost like actually caring about doing the right thing leads a culture to all 3 solutions.

As we’ve both said, it’s not an “either or” time, it’s a “yes and” moment. We need all the things now to move the needle.

It’s pretty astounding. I used to go to China 3-4 times a year for work. It was crazy to just see how quickly things changed there!

The EV adoption has just been great. And the mass transit build out over the past 20 years is just astounding.

For me the #ev win/win/win is:

- better for the environment than a gas car, including hybrids (science is definitive here)

- more fun to dive (instant torque, AWD, low center of gravity, regen braking)

- easier to own (almost no maintenance, batteries can last 400k miles, charging at home)

If you ever have any questions, EV drivers like @zamafir.bsky.social and I are always happy to answer as best we can.

We kept a 6 speed manual sports car in the household and my partner and I kept jockeying for who would get the EV. Neither of us wanted to drive the sports car anymore 🤣 … took another 2 years but now we have 2 EVs.

Definitely go full EV if you can. Just better than a hybrid all around in my experience. Some good options in this video. An IONIQ 5 will charge faster and go further than a Mach E.

First time I drove to higher elevation I got nervous as it was eating battery range! But then I saw as I came home down the mountain I barely used anything because the regenerative breaking was just storing all of that energy coming down hill and I was smitten. #ev

🤣 100% for me and pretty much all of my car enthusiast friends who have made the switch.
