Freud provides an interesting case and challenge to the concept of the epistemic break because there was a definite change between 1895-1900/01, but so many of the elements that became psychoanalysis were present in some embryonic form in previous neurology and hypnotherapy

Since we’re doing bio posts now: I’m Brendan, and I mostly work on psychoanalysis, Marxism, critical theory, and historical epistemology. I’m a PhD candidate at Villanova. Outside my work, I love going to shows, cooking, collecting records, road-trips, and watching cult and art house movies
