i loved discovering hidden areas/gimmicks in this game. too many games nowadays are like “what you see is what you get”

that boss was unnecessarily difficult. felt more like rolling a dice every time. though i did like how the entire game was more exploration based with slow and fast segments

i think that’s a G4 that had these handles that’d elevate it about an inch or so above the ground. these pro-repair Apple cases were pretty awesome at the time since to access the motherboard one just unfolds it flat

this does look cool. if using sprites, there’s also a way to do rotations without getting aliasing by skewing. with skewing every pixel is preserved m.youtube.com/watch?v=1LCE...

TBH the tau/16 makes it clearer than their suggestion. and if they have a thing against tau then 360/16 would have been still better than 22.5. with the 16 i can see this in my head (16 minus the 4 north, south, east, west directions = 12 remaining, divide by 4 quadrants, = 3 spokes per quadrant)

might be worth scattering a few dense layers and taking pictures for textures it anyone wants them

i think they also missed the retro streamer market by omitting an HDMI-in or at least a second USB-C port. i’ve tried to dongle(w/external pwr) a camera input and a game capture input on one USB-C port (on another device) and it kept dropping frames. who knows, maybe their single USB-C can handle it

i might be overthinking it but the corners seem like they might be a pain to do, best of luck! 😬

iirc the 3BP was based off the VA3’s audio circuit, so it’s recommended to skip the audio bypass for VA3 models. not sure about the 3BP v2+ though and if this recommendation changes

what if, wherever the cursor is, draw a sphere, and any part of the clouds in that sphere, gets their transparency reduced to something super low?

that run animation probably took a good chunk of ROM but worth it in the end

this it too cool! though i imagine if you add more vertical space you can fit in a mid and high enemy sweep. love the little cute crab top right

in general, sometimes i’m amazed to see earlier games like in the 90s selling more than even modern games. like you’d expect there’s more gamers now and more customers but nah it’s like super mario bros up there still among the other best selling games

ooh. interesting topic. i do know there was Coded Arms on PSP by Konami. sadly they outsourced the sequel (Contagion) to a western studio iirc that diverted from the aesthetic a bit and cancelled the PS3 version: m.youtube.com/watch?v=b26s...

would it be possible to play the game in VR but mouse and keyboard? for those of us that want the immersion but are too lazy to wiggle their arms about 😃
