i think that’s a G4 that had these handles that’d elevate it about an inch or so above the ground. these pro-repair Apple cases were pretty awesome at the time since to access the motherboard one just unfolds it flat

TBH the tau/16 makes it clearer than their suggestion. and if they have a thing against tau then 360/16 would have been still better than 22.5. with the 16 i can see this in my head (16 minus the 4 north, south, east, west directions = 12 remaining, divide by 4 quadrants, = 3 spokes per quadrant)

i might be overthinking it but the corners seem like they might be a pain to do, best of luck! 😬

Dragons can’t be real because every flying creature we have, exchanges their arms for wings. Wyverns OTOH, much more plausible.

i was digging through old tweets for KPDH concept art (wish there was an official collector’s bluray/book with it!) and came across this tweet by @maggiekang.bsky.social , lol makes me wonder if the “undisclosed” reason is #kpopdemonhunters related 😂

the most recent thing i’ve been working on adding to my fantasy VM/emulator is a 32 voice, 48 KHz SPU inspired by the PS1’s SPU and a stereoscopic GPU that uses multilayered depth/color buffers for parallax

which brings us somewhat close to present day status of my fantasy 16 bit CPU and VM, and now OS, where i have a preliminary kernel running 4 tasks in parallel. each different colored Hello is a different program running
August 30, 2025 at 9:32 PM
i then added foreground/background color support per character cell
August 30, 2025 at 9:21 PM
to begin writing an OS for my fictional 16 bit machine, i took the collection of text functions i wrote and made a scrolling console with them
August 30, 2025 at 9:18 PM
i ended up implementing paging similar to x86 for my fantasy 16 bit CPU. though it lacks page dirs, just has a flat page table. it has a TLB/TLB clearing instructions as well. here i’m remapping the display device address from 0xA… to 0xE…; with paging in place, the pieces were set for writing an OS

example code to access the memory mapped storage device. the VM itself writes to a raw file which i show in a hex editor the output of the write. i’ve not done so yet but one would then build on top this to implement a file system

so proceeding on writing my emulator for a made up gaming console/PC utilizing my made up/fantasy 16 bit CPU, i began adding memory mapped IO devices to it: storage, real time clock, mouse, keyboard
August 30, 2025 at 8:54 PM
after drawing fancy lines and patterns for my fantasy 16 bit CPU, i decided i should make my own bitmap font since i’d need it for more complicated things later; i ended up making the font in a text editor idk why but paint would have been easier. with a font i began writing text routines/f16 print
August 30, 2025 at 8:49 PM
with most of the groundwork of my fantasy 16 bit CPU settled, i began expanding more on the auxiliary bits like: instruction/data cache. MMU with TLB. interrupt support, a memory mapped Programmable Interrupt Controller as well as a Programmable Interrupt Timer. all these things necessary for an OS
August 30, 2025 at 8:24 PM
originally when i was writing my fantasy 16 bit CPU, i wanted to keep it strictly integer based. but given how popular 16 bits floats are nowadays, i decided to implement support for the IEEE-754 standard. the CPU has built in trig functions that use ROM chips to look up calculations for trig/etc
August 30, 2025 at 8:15 PM
so i’ve been working on my own fantasy CPU for a while now. it’s 16 bit, MIPS inspired, some parts from 68k, ARM, RISCV, x86. no delay slot. it uses DS/SS hardcoded segment registers for destination and source. it’s register-memory unlike MIPS load-store. wrote an assembler for it too. has 16bit FPU

i’d love to see a 1980s-2000s “kpop” demon hunters prequel that has 80s vibes for a bit, then the 90s, fleshes out celine’s backstory, features earlier musical styles, shows younger years of huntrix in later parts. fts familiar faces in demon world

So check this out,if you add 64 dec to every byte of the Castlevania Circle of the Moon ROM,you can see the special player names the devs are checking for to enable special game modes. All are publicly known except ABCDBCAD. i don’t know what it does atm, but also one might need to beat the game (…)
