Kristi Noem: ‘We can't trust the government anymore.”

Dana: “You are the government.”

Important. They used this same argument to round up Japanese Americans after Pearl Harbor using the military and to force us from our homes and into internment camps. Never again.

Reading this, I’m reminded that, in the lead-up to the 1996 Olympics, Atlanta police pre-printed thousands of arrest citations with "homeless" and "African-American"—officers only had to fill in a name.

We worked for 2 years to find a solution after we didn’t get a disaster declaration and the state of Alabama did little to help. We aren’t people who go after federal grants. We are a group of working class folks trying to figure out how to get resources to isolated places. This stops that.
President Trump’s order that all federal climate spending be paused is paralyzing agencies, delaying construction projects and forcing some companies to furlough workers.

What’s whale for “you absolute f***ers”?
Hell yeah: humpback whale songs exhibit complex statistical patterns identical to human language. Zipf’s Law strikes again!

Love this paper and this agenda. Can’t wait until we can have full-on conversations with whales. I bet we’re about 10-20 years away from that at this point.
