We campaign to put cycling at the heart of Oxford’s future.
Our mission is to get more people cycling, more often, and more safely.
People who cycle often don't understand why other people don't, and vice versa.
Read this heartwarming story and see just how many barriers need to be overcome if you're new to cycling or your circumstances change.
How could you help someone take up cycling?
How cycling support created lasting change for Hannah and her son
When travel costs rose and timetables stopped working for family life, teaching assistant Hannah Knowles looked for a simple, affordable way to do the nursery–work juggle

Many people want change – cleaner air, safer streets, more choice – but we think others don’t. So maybe change needs to start with how we THINK.. about roads, cars, freedom, bikes...

Is cycling fun?
Not really. I mean no more than walking is.
At Cyclox, we think of cycling as a way for getting from A to B. Of course it can be fun - riding with friends, riding somewhere where there's no traffic and lovely views, but mostly it's neither fun or not fun, it's just transport.
Tim laments about how the UK bike industry is centred around leisure and sports in our new podcast: Carspiracy.

This diminishes cycling as a legitimate form of transport with serious negative impacts for those of us trying to sell and service cargo bikes and utility cycles.

Londoners are breathing cleaner air now.

When emissions from traffic fall, the air gets cleaner. You just need fewer vehicles and cleaner vehicles.

We're looking forward to cleaner air in Oxford after the introduction of the temporary congestion charge.

Reducing cycle parking at Oxford's railway station and restricting access makes it even more difficult for cycling and parking.
Fortunately Jackie had come in plenty of time for her train. @andrewgant.bsky.social @emilykerr36.bsky.social @oxfordshirecc.bsky.social @bbcoxford.bsky.social

Cycling to take the train at Oxford Station just got harder. You can only accessible the large cycle parking area from the South, and they've removed about 88 spaces! @andrewgant.bsky.social @emilykerr36.bsky.social

Time to try something new?
If you'd like to catch the bus, cycle, use an electric scooter or bike but aren't sure how. If you're embarrassed to ask.

🧵1/1 Myths about the #Oxford congestion charge. From October 29th:
1)You will have to pay to drive into and around Oxford
2)Businesses will go out of business because it won't be possible to drive to the front door
3) It will be more expensive to get to work from outside Oxford.

Will Oxford's Congestion Charge be as effective as the one in Paris?
We're hoping more people will try cycling and enjoy safer roads and cleaner air.

What will you try out?
“Air pollution fell substantially as Paris restricted car traffic and made way for parks, people-streets and bike-lanes.”

Better for the climate, better for health, better for livability and quality of life.

Common sense.

Such a no-brainer, it’s remarkable that more cities HAVEN’T done the same.
Paris said au revoir to cars. Air pollution maps reveal a dramatic change.
Air pollution fell substantially as the city restricted car traffic and made way for parks and bike lanes.

Pavements are for people walking, using wheelchairs and pushing buggies so let's keep them clear of obstacles, whether that's cars, bikes or scooters.

Expensive luxury or cheap alternative to the car?
E cargo bikes are cheaper to buy and to run than cars but a very expensive addition (up front cost) to a household already running a car.
We need to seriously consider how to support the rapid proliferation of such alternative modes of transport.
