I like bicycles and coffee. Active transportation policy nerd mostly in a California context. Movement by bike, on foot, on buses and trains. I've been around. Old GenX guy who respects pronouns. He / him.
That image is horrible indeed

Ah yes, thanks for pointing that out. Penitencia Ck doesn't get much love from me. I'll work to fix that, probably this weekend.

City of Santa Clara *used* to have a webcam pointed at San Tomas Aquino Trail at Mission College, but that's been gone for years now.

I've seen people do this before at this location.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, yeah. This is nice.

I spotted a cyclist in the timelapse!

Wait, what? When did this start?

I'd rather detour *before* hitting that bit.

TBF, LGC detour isn't horrible when this happens. Guadalupe River Trail, you have to backtrack 3/4 mile to closest previous trailhead

The swirling water shows debris that is caught up in a fence on the *right* side of the bike path, which is probably under a good three to four feet of water in this photo. The river is normally on the other side of those trees near the middle of the photo.

By way of example: the Los Gatos Creek Trail after heavy rain can look like this.

On railroads, anything above 1.5% is considered steep. Donner Pass hits 2.6% and that's a tough climb for trains. You know cars can go steeper but they like to keep highways below 3%.

Hey Jym! I don't believe I've seen this doggy.

Are you still in SF?
